This year, SM City North Edsa opens to shoppers a Chinese Art Exhibit held at the SM North The Block in celebration of Chinese New Year and the 80th birthday of the family patriarch Chan Lim. A Chan Lim family of artists and students recently held an event titled "Meet the artists - Behind the Brushstrokes"to introduce the artists who are behind the beautiful Chinese Artworks at the exhibit.
The Artworks in the exhibit are painted on rice paper, porcelain plate and patriarch. Chan Lim mastered and preferred the oil painting which is one of his masterpiece is the centerpiece highlights in a Chinese grand pagoda "Koi Fishes" painting.
The Chan Lim siblings Alex, Felix, Rolex and Jolex are all engineers by profession and are currently engaged in leadership positions with multinational companies. Bound by their passion for the arts, the Chan Lims have successfully nurtured the artistic talents of the third generation. The younger brood enjoys experimenting with different types of media, along with modern digital techniques and incorporates these into Chinese art.

Today, Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students already have 8 exhibits and in every event they conducted a free Chinese painting workshop.
The Chan Lim family is one of the few remaining notable Chinese brush painting artists in the country today, and is sought after in this field. art class are conducted in the family studio located in Pasig city. Their painting can be found in private collections here and abroad.
